Based on a nursing home's performance on 3 sources: health inspections, staffing and quality measures.
Original Medicare typically covers short-term rehabilitation for up to 100 days (lifetime limit) following a hospital stay of at least three inpatient days or under specific qualifying circumstances, once your deductible is met. For long-term nursing home care, Medicaid may provide coverage after exhausting long-term care insurance and personal savings, depending on the facility. It's important to verify payment options and costs directly with the nursing home to ensure clarity and avoid unexpected expenses.

I can't say enough good things about Gulf Coast Medical Center's Skilled Nursing Unit. The staff is amazing, always kind and attentive. They truly care about their residents and make them feel like family. My grandmother was there for a few months after surgery, and she received excellent care. I highly recommend this facility.

The Skilled Nursing Unit at Gulf Coast Medical Center is a great place. My grandfather received quality care and the staff was always helpful and responsive. The facility is clean and well-maintained, and the food is decent. The only downside is that the activities could be more engaging, but overall it's a good experience.

The staff at the Skilled Nursing Unit was friendly and helpful, but I found the communication a bit lacking at times. My mother's care plan was not always clearly communicated, and I had to ask for updates often. The facility itself is okay, but could use some updating in certain areas. Overall, it's a decent facility but not the best I've seen.
