Based on a nursing home's performance on 3 sources: health inspections, staffing and quality measures.
Original Medicare typically covers short-term rehabilitation for up to 100 days (lifetime limit) following a hospital stay of at least three inpatient days or under specific qualifying circumstances, once your deductible is met. For long-term nursing home care, Medicaid may provide coverage after exhausting long-term care insurance and personal savings, depending on the facility. It's important to verify payment options and costs directly with the nursing home to ensure clarity and avoid unexpected expenses.

My mother has been living at Altoona Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the past year, and we are so happy with the care she has received. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive, and they always go the extra mile to make sure my mom is comfortable and happy. The facility is clean and well-maintained, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend this center to anyone looking for a caring and supportive environment for their loved one.

I was so impressed with the level of care and compassion I witnessed at Altoona Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The staff was always available to answer my questions and address my concerns. My grandmother was in the center for rehabilitation after a hip surgery, and she made remarkable progress. The therapists were skilled and motivated, and they helped her regain her strength and independence. I am grateful for the excellent care my grandmother received.

Altoona Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is a decent facility, but I have a few concerns. While the staff is generally friendly, there are times when communication could be better. Additionally, the facility could benefit from more activities and social programs for the residents. Overall, it's a decent place, but it could be better.
