Based on a nursing home's performance on 3 sources: health inspections, staffing and quality measures.
Original Medicare typically covers short-term rehabilitation for up to 100 days (lifetime limit) following a hospital stay of at least three inpatient days or under specific qualifying circumstances, once your deductible is met. For long-term nursing home care, Medicaid may provide coverage after exhausting long-term care insurance and personal savings, depending on the facility. It's important to verify payment options and costs directly with the nursing home to ensure clarity and avoid unexpected expenses.

Selfhelp Home of Chicago has exceeded our expectations. My grandmother has Alzheimer's disease, and the memory care unit is outstanding. The caregivers are so patient and understanding, and they create a warm and supportive environment. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, and the food is delicious. We are grateful to have found such a wonderful place for our grandmother.

The staff at Selfhelp Home of Chicago is friendly and helpful, but there have been a few instances where communication could have been better. Overall, the care is good, but the home could benefit from some improvements in the dining options and activity program.
