Based on a nursing home's performance on 3 sources: health inspections, staffing and quality measures.
Original Medicare typically covers short-term rehabilitation for up to 100 days (lifetime limit) following a hospital stay of at least three inpatient days or under specific qualifying circumstances, once your deductible is met. For long-term nursing home care, Medicaid may provide coverage after exhausting long-term care insurance and personal savings, depending on the facility. It's important to verify payment options and costs directly with the nursing home to ensure clarity and avoid unexpected expenses.

The staff at Baton Rouge General SNF were so kind and attentive to my mother's needs. They helped her regain her strength and independence after her surgery. The facility was clean and comfortable, and the food was pretty good. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone who needs post-acute care.

The care was good, but I did find some of the staff to be overworked and short-staffed. The facility itself was nice, but the rooms were a little small. The food was decent, but not something to write home about. I would say it was a good experience overall, but I would want to look around before making a decision.
