Based on a nursing home's performance on 3 sources: health inspections, staffing and quality measures.
Original Medicare typically covers short-term rehabilitation for up to 100 days (lifetime limit) following a hospital stay of at least three inpatient days or under specific qualifying circumstances, once your deductible is met. For long-term nursing home care, Medicaid may provide coverage after exhausting long-term care insurance and personal savings, depending on the facility. It's important to verify payment options and costs directly with the nursing home to ensure clarity and avoid unexpected expenses.

My mother has been living at Elderwood of Scallop Shell for a couple of years now, and we've been very pleased with the care she's received. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive, and they truly go the extra mile to make sure she feels comfortable and cared for. The community is also very welcoming, and there are always plenty of activities for residents to participate in. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place for their loved one.

The facilities at Elderwood of Scallop Shell are well-maintained and the staff is generally friendly, but I've found the communication to be a bit lacking at times. It can be difficult to get in touch with specific staff members, and I've had a few instances where information wasn't relayed accurately. Overall, it's a decent place, but there's room for improvement in terms of communication and transparency.
