Based on a nursing home's performance on 3 sources: health inspections, staffing and quality measures.
Original Medicare typically covers short-term rehabilitation for up to 100 days (lifetime limit) following a hospital stay of at least three inpatient days or under specific qualifying circumstances, once your deductible is met. For long-term nursing home care, Medicaid may provide coverage after exhausting long-term care insurance and personal savings, depending on the facility. It's important to verify payment options and costs directly with the nursing home to ensure clarity and avoid unexpected expenses.

My grandmother has been at Northbrook for a few months now, and we've been very happy with the care she's received. The staff is kind and attentive, and they always make sure she's comfortable and well-cared for. The facility is clean and well-maintained, and there are plenty of activities for residents to participate in. I would definitely recommend Northbrook to anyone looking for a good nursing home for their loved one.

Overall, a decent facility. The staff is friendly and helpful, but there have been some issues with communication. I wish they would be more proactive in keeping families updated on resident progress. The food could also be improved, but the overall experience has been positive.
