Based on a nursing home's performance on 3 sources: health inspections, staffing and quality measures.
Original Medicare typically covers short-term rehabilitation for up to 100 days (lifetime limit) following a hospital stay of at least three inpatient days or under specific qualifying circumstances, once your deductible is met. For long-term nursing home care, Medicaid may provide coverage after exhausting long-term care insurance and personal savings, depending on the facility. It's important to verify payment options and costs directly with the nursing home to ensure clarity and avoid unexpected expenses.

My grandmother has been at Agawam West for a few months now and we're very happy with the care she's receiving. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they seem to genuinely care about her well-being. The facility is clean and well-maintained, and the food is pretty good too. We would definitely recommend Agawam West to others.

I'm not sure I'd say Agawam West is the best nursing home in the area, but it's decent. The staff is okay, some are better than others. The food is pretty basic, but they do try to offer some variety. The rooms are a little small, but clean enough. Overall, it's a middle-of-the-road facility.
