Based on a nursing home's performance on 3 sources: health inspections, staffing and quality measures.
Original Medicare typically covers short-term rehabilitation for up to 100 days (lifetime limit) following a hospital stay of at least three inpatient days or under specific qualifying circumstances, once your deductible is met. For long-term nursing home care, Medicaid may provide coverage after exhausting long-term care insurance and personal savings, depending on the facility. It's important to verify payment options and costs directly with the nursing home to ensure clarity and avoid unexpected expenses.

My grandmother has been at Lamar for a few months now, and we've been very happy with the care she's received. The staff is kind and attentive, and they really seem to care about the residents. The facility is clean and well-maintained, and the food is pretty good.

The facility is okay, but it could be better. The staff is hit or miss; some are great, and others seem overworked and stressed. The rooms are small, and the building feels a bit dated. But the food is decent, and they have a good selection of activities.

I cannot recommend Lamar enough! My grandfather was there for a few weeks after his surgery, and the staff was amazing. They were so patient and understanding, and they made sure he was comfortable and well taken care of. The physical therapy team was excellent, and he made great progress thanks to their expertise.
