Based on a nursing home's performance on 3 sources: health inspections, staffing and quality measures.
Original Medicare typically covers short-term rehabilitation for up to 100 days (lifetime limit) following a hospital stay of at least three inpatient days or under specific qualifying circumstances, once your deductible is met. For long-term nursing home care, Medicaid may provide coverage after exhausting long-term care insurance and personal savings, depending on the facility. It's important to verify payment options and costs directly with the nursing home to ensure clarity and avoid unexpected expenses.

My grandmother has been living at Throg's Neck for a few months now, and we're so happy with the care she's receiving. The staff is wonderful - caring, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile. The facility itself is clean and well-maintained, and there are plenty of activities to keep residents engaged.

I was hesitant about placing my father in an extended care facility, but Throg's Neck has completely changed my perspective. They've treated him with such kindness and respect. The facility is very comfortable, and the staff has been great at keeping me updated on his progress.

The care at Throg's Neck is decent, but I have noticed some inconsistencies in the level of attention my mother receives. Some staff members are truly wonderful, while others seem rushed and less engaged. Overall, it's a decent facility, but there's room for improvement.
