Based on a nursing home's performance on 3 sources: health inspections, staffing and quality measures.
Original Medicare typically covers short-term rehabilitation for up to 100 days (lifetime limit) following a hospital stay of at least three inpatient days or under specific qualifying circumstances, once your deductible is met. For long-term nursing home care, Medicaid may provide coverage after exhausting long-term care insurance and personal savings, depending on the facility. It's important to verify payment options and costs directly with the nursing home to ensure clarity and avoid unexpected expenses.

The staff at Smithtown Center are truly amazing. They are so kind and compassionate, always willing to go the extra mile to make sure my loved one is comfortable and cared for. The facility itself is clean and well-maintained, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting.

I've had some mixed experiences with Smithtown Center. Some of the staff are great, but there have been times when communication has been lacking. Overall, I think they provide good care, but there is room for improvement.

My mom received excellent rehabilitation care at Smithtown Center. She made significant progress and was able to return home with greater independence. The therapists were highly skilled and attentive, and the nursing staff was always available when needed.
